How delivery fees work

When a diner chooses delivery, they see the exact fee at checkout — calculated from a live Uber Direct quote for their address and your kitchen.

  • Typical range in Cape Town pilot zones: R40–R60
  • If Uber is temporarily unavailable, a zone estimate keeps checkout moving
  • During the pilot, we may absorb small quote vs actual variance — agreed per merchant before go-live

When things go wrong

Delivery support, explained.

Merchants ask who handles wrong orders, cold food, and late couriers. Here's the honest answer — before you sign up.

Who handles delivery problems?

Delivery is fulfilled by Uber Direct. If a courier is late, the order goes to the wrong address, or the bag is damaged in transit, the diner contacts Uber's delivery support from their live tracking link.

What's my role as the merchant?

Prepare the order correctly and respond if the diner reaches you directly. You receive a WhatsApp alert when each paid order lands so you can start prep immediately.

What about refunds?

Payment refunds follow Paystack (card) or Zapper (wallet) rules. Platform support helps with menu, links, and technical issues during trading hours — we'll guide you through the first refund case.

How do customers pay?

Pay by card or Zapper — no app download required. Card works in any mobile browser. We do not offer EFT at checkout yet.
